DJ Mustard Signs With Roc Nation

Jay Z’s Roc Nation makes another power today by signing super producer DJ Mustard who has produced hits for 2 Chainz, Young Jeezy, Tyga and many more. Dijon “DJ Mustard” McFarlane hasn’t joined the company on the management side but as an artist on the label, joining likes of J. Cole, Rihanna and Rita Ora. Watch a mini documentary below where he speaks on the deal.

Swizz Beatz Executive Producing DMX’s Comeback Album

Swizz Beatz was a guest on MTV Rapfix Live a couple of days ago. Apart from his son Egypt and Reebok deal, Swizz also discussed working on DMX’s comeback album which he will be actually executive producing. Swizz revealed that X’s comeback project is his main focus at the moment and he’s excited about the music they are creating together.

“Everything is DMX for me right now. It’s my main focus because it’s what started everything. So, if I don’t focus on that, then it’s just not right. He’s been going through a lot of different things but … he’s DMX! He’s good; he’s in good vibes. But wait until y’all hear this music though — y’all gon’ really know how he is. We working hard on that and I can’t wait. I can’t wait.”

Rihanna is back in the news with the official video for her latest single ‘What Now’, taken from her current album Unapologetic. The dark themed visual, having a “gothic” feel (according to Ri herself) was shot in Thailand a month or so ago. Take a look below.

Bun B Freestyle On Sway In The Morning Show

Bun B visited Sway In The Morning show on Shade 45 recently to talk about his new album The Epilogue. The discussed the collaborations on the CD, his thoughts on current Rap music scene, his teaching role at Rice University in Houston and more. The UGK MC also spit an off the top freestyle on the mic (at the 18 minute mark).

“A lot that we see in rap music, is being described in hip hop, everything that is rap music is not hip hop. An MC can be a rapper, a rapper can’t be an MC.”
