Pretty Lou’s Artist Pick of The Week : Lantana

Pretty Lou: Lantana, who recently dropped his latest joint, the “The All Hustle No Luck Tape,” grew up in the streets of Cincinnati, and actually lived on Lantana St., when he was growing up, so it was fitting that he chose to go by that name. “They used to call me “Easy,” he recalls, “but I went away for a little while (he had been incarcerated) and people starting calling me that, and it stuck. It meant something to me, and it represents my people.”

Team Lantana includes his business partner and co-manager Dan Gotti, his executive producer Sparkz Tha Trakman as well as co-manager James Rosemond, Jr. / RoyalDream Management.

Lantana describes his lyrics as authentic, “My lyrics are real to me; they come from how I feel about a situation. I’m not trying to please nobody, but this is who I am,” he explains.

As Lantana explains, ‘The All Hustle No Luck Tape’ is my best work to date and it’s just the beginning of my story. I really want to have an impact on my listeners. I want to inspire people to want more for themselves and those around them. I truly do it for my people.”

50 Cent Says G-Unit Reunion A “Strong Possibility”

50 Cent has been hard at work at CES 2013 in Vegas where he is showcasing his old and new line of SMS Audio products. Also joining him are Floyd Mayweather Sr., President of SMS Audio Brian Nohe and Mike Tyson. 50 did a lot of press today at his Booth including interviews with MSN, CNET and Fox Business all of which you can watch after the jump.

But in his chat with Billboard Biz, the CEO of SMS Audio has confirmed that his album Street King Immortal will come out on February 26th and that there’s a strong possibility of a G-Unit Unit reunion with Lloyd banks & Tony Yayo following that.

“People grow in different directions. [They] have different agendas about things they want to do and they’re sorting themselves out in that way and I’m focused on things that are important to me right now, but there’s a strong possibility there will be a G-Unit [collaboration] with the three of us. But right now, I’m focused on my solo project.”

Beyonce Talks 5th Album With GQ + Full Photoshoot

While we are still swooning over Beyonce on cover of GQ’s 100 sexiest women of the 21st century issue, the full cover story and photoshoot have been released today and it gets hotter.

Beyonce has opened up about her upcoming performance at the Super Bowl XLVII next month her upcoming 5th studio album, married life, parenthood and more.

On her new album for which she has recorded over 50 songs:

“I’ve been working with Pharrell and Timbaland and Justin Timberlake and Dream. We all started in the ’90s, when R&B was the most important genre, and we all kind of want that back: the feeling that music gave us.”

On upcoming Super Bowl performance:

“One of the reasons I connect to the Super Bowl is that I approach my shows like an athlete,” she says now. “You know how they sit down and watch whoever they’re going to play and study themselves? That’s how I treat this. I watch my performances, and I wish I could just enjoy them, but I see the light that was late. I see, ‘Oh God, that hair did not work.’ Or ‘I should never do that again.’ I try to perfect myself. I want to grow, and I’m always eager for new information.”
