50 Things You Didn’t Know About Jay-Z. (Complex Magazine)

Hip-hop fans have been listening to, watching, and reading about Jay-Z for what seems like forever. At this point, it feels like Hov is a guy we know really well—even if he doesn’t know us at all.

The main reason for this is that Jay has revealed so much about himself through his songs: how he shot his brother, the pain he felt when his father left him, the stillborn child his ex-girlfriend gave birth to. It’s hard not to feel a kinship to him. He isn’t quite as much of a soul-bearing artist as Eminem (who exposes every single detail), but he does poke his head out to reveal jarring facts about himself on occasion.

Still, no matter how much Hov you’ve listened to, there are plenty of below-the-radar facts of which you may not be aware. Not anymore, though. We did some research and dug up several interesting tidbits of information from Jay-Z profiles, interviews, and books that have come out over the years.

So without further ado, here are 50 Things You Didn’t Know About Jay-Z.

-Reasonable Doubt was originally titled Heir to the Throne.
-He got Trackmasters to produce for him by betting Steve Stoute he could beat him in Madden.
-He spoke to Biggie over the phone on the night he was killed.
-At one point, Memphis Bleek owned him $3 million in losses stemming from a card game.
-His father died the same night Jay celebrated the opening of the 40/40 Club.
-Smoking weed helped him finish making “Izzo.”

50 Cent – My Life ft. Eminem, Adam Levine from Fozil on Vimeo.

MTV writes:

Whenever 50 Cent and Eminem get on a record together, it’s an event. Their most recent collaboration, “My Life,”certainly lives up to their collective legend, and the music video is set to do the same.

On Tuesday at 6 a.m. ET, fans can tune in to MTV, MTV2, MTV Jams, MTV Hits and mtvU to catch the premiere of 50 Cent’s “My Life” music video featuring Em and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine.

The track, which premiered Monday (November 26), finds the two rappers spitting about the pressures of fame, and the vid will perfectly illustrate the difficulty they face on the daily. “The video is kind of abstract; it’s kind of metaphoric in a sense, like the paranoia of feeling like we’re being chased,” Em teased when he spoke to MTV News on the “My Life” video set in Detroit last month. “Whether it’s true or not, it’s kind of how we feel. It’s kind of a metaphor for us running for our lives. Personal lives and from fame, everything that goes with the game.”

While past collabos between Fif and Em like “Patiently Waiting” and “Never Enough” focused on menacing wordplay, this time out, the longtime friends opened up like never before.

“Me and Fif can probably go on forever talkin’ about our lives,” Eminem said.

Eminem has had a multiplatinum career by dishing on personal matters such as his relationship with his mother, failed relationship with ex-wife Kim and the pride that he feels as a father, but for the G-Unit bruiser, talking about his business is still new territory. “The album itself is more personal than the albums in the past,” he said of his upcoming February LP Street King Immortal. “Now this record, it’s allowed us to do different things creatively. I’ve been able to come out a few times, more than usual to come to Detroit and work with Em for this record.”

Spike Lee talks Nets moving to Brooklyn and rivalry with the Knicks (Last night’s game recap)

This gives new meaning to the Battle of Brooklyn.

Marty Markowitz and filmmaker Spike Lee went one-on-one before last night’s much-anticipated matchup between the Knicks and the Nets at Brooklyn’s new Barclays Center.

After the cheerleading Brooklyn borough president challenged the movie mogul’s Brooklyn cred — in a video, of all things — the Knick uberfan fired back with a slam dunk tweet.

“With All Due Respect I Love BROOKLYN And New York Knickerbockers,” the Brooklyn-born and -raised Lee told his followers. “No Way EVER I Change. NYK.”

Earlier, Markowitz said Brooklynites who continued to root for what he called “the Manhattan Knicks” are “treasonous.”

“All I want is if the Knicks falter, which they’re going to,” Markowitz told Lee, “that you then make the Brooklyn Nets your second-favorite team.”

The Nets eked out a thrilling, 96-89 overtime victory — but Lee, as it turned out, wasn’t there, which was probably a good thing for him.

Markowitz found himself double-teamed even before the tip-off. Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer, on Lee’s side, took exception to the Brooklyn Beep’s trash talking.

“The ‘Manhattan’ Knicks?” Stringer asked. “Tell that to Carmelo “Red Hook” Anthony. This is a great night for New York City — and for basketball fans everywhere.”

Among the celebrities on hand for the historic game — the first regular-season matchup between two NBA teams from New York City — were Mayor Bloomberg, Michael Strahan, Charlie Rose, Richard Gere and, of course, Jay-Z, who is a part- owner of the Nets, and his wife, Beyoncé.

After the game, Jay-Z tweeted, “The city is under new management.’’

Rihanna’s “Uncensored” Topless Pic for Unapologetic Album Cover Surfaces

Many outlets have posted an alleged topless picture of the superstar singer, claiming it’s the untouched original image for her seventh studio album’s cover art.

The photo shows Rihanna’s right breast completely exposed.

But is it the real deal?

Not so fast.

Has Rihanna’s ”Unapologetic” gone uncensored?

Rihanna — who’s never been shy about baring skin — appears to have debunked the alleged pic.

When a link to the image was tweeted to her, she replied, “where my ring tho?” — a seeming illusion to the picture not showing a pierced nipple.

Her T-Mobile account was hacked in 2009 and this photo was released :
